Every year hundreds and thousand of foreign nationals are accepted to Canada legally. They come through either a permanent or a temporary visa program.
“Permanent Residence (PR)” is an umbrella term used to cover ten different types of permanent visa programs. A PR visa holder can work, study, and live in Canada until they meet the residential obligations to become a naturalized Canadian.
A temporary visa is issued for students, workers or visitors who want to cross Canadian borders for one of those purposes. They have to return to their home countries once their purpose in Canada has been fulfilled.
